Not that I don't like my Irish Hiking Scarf - I love it. But I've never been a one-and-only-one-thing type of knitter. I fell into that during the Olympics. So I spent a good bit of time the past few days in a few LYS and online checking out patterns and books, plotting a few more projects to jazz up my knitting life (and this boring blog, too.)
I've got a few things planned.
1) First, for some intarsia practice and even a political statement,
Maggie Shepherd's Peace Pullover from Interweave Knits 2002. I'll try it in cotton since I always have to change something.
2) For my daughter, a fair isle hat that starts with an I-cord inspired by the Pam Allen hat in America Knits. (I wish I was making the "Mitten Coat" she designed, but by the time I finished it my 9-year would be a teenager.
3) I'm still on the prowl for a good cable project for me. It cannot be the same three cables over... and over... and over... and over...
But really, I love the scarf. I just could use a little variety.
So on to my other projects....
4) and 5) I know two couples expecting babies, one due in July and one due by adoption any time. I always knit for new babies, so I have two baby projects to plan. Since I live in Maine, even summer babies need sweaters in the evening.
Speaking of summer, there have definitely been signs of SPRING here.
I think we need to pack our skis up for the season. Here is Harriet outside the condo we rented our last weekend at Sugarloaf. The snow was plentiful on the mountain, thankfully.

And this visitor was in the rosebush outside my living room window on March 31.
